Passion. It's like Batman. He's got all the fun toys, but it's his passion that makes him awesome!
I'm going with Passion. Equipment is great but if you don't have the passion then all you got is equipment.
By far passion. Someone who is passionate about photography can create amazing things with the simplest of equipment. And all the money in the world spent on equipment cannot replace that love and passion and it shoes in the results.
