The Girl w/ the Red Umbrella

Drop after drop, the rain fell all around us. She danced without a care in the world. Tip, tap, happily in the rain. As the rain continued to fall, her attitude gave way for sunshine. She turned the endless sea of grey skies into a colorful world of joy. Her and her bright red umbrella.

Sara, I was honored when you asked me to take these photos of you for your special project. I love what you are doing with them, and I can't wait to see the end result ;) Though I had to re-sched one session this weekend because of the weather, I am glad that we continued yours in the rain. You and that perfect red umbrella. Xoxo

Here are some of my favorites...

Portraits: Margot

She raised her hand and said she attended San Francisco State. As soon as I heard it, I smiled because she just made it easier for me to come up to her and introduce myself. I was brand new to the ward. She was too. I wanted to make a friend, and that's what we became. Margot is one of a kind. We've known each other since freshmen year of college and have been friends ever since.

Last month, she made the decision to move from San Diego to Los Angeles to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She belongs on stage, and is pursuing what she loves most. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for her.

Margot, seeing you this weekend made my trip 10 times better. Cubed. You will do great things in life, and I'll always be there to cheer you on. Hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Xoxo

Portraits: Iris MacCarthy

With her, it's always a first meeting. Even so, I'm still greeted with a warm smile every single time. She is Iris MacCarthy, Chris' grandmother. It's a guarantee that I'm laughing whenever I'm around her because she is f-u-n-n-y, funny! She and I become best of friends when I try to help her with her crossword puzzles. But I find it absolutely hilarious when she tells me that I'm wrong :) Then she compliments me on the shoes that I'm wearing or the ring on my finger. In the end, we're BFF's again.

Oh Iris, you are such a wonderful lady. I'm glad I had the chance to take these beautiful portraits of you. Chris and I love you, and I hope you enjoy these as much as we do!

Portraits: Michelle MacCarthy

"Shut up Gladys!" is what she kept saying to me as we walked through the crowded streets of the Embarcadero on 4th of July. I in return said, "Shut up Michelle!" (I'm great at comebacks. Can't you tell?) I don't even really know why we kept saying it to each other. But it was funny. That night seemed like it was the end of the world, when in reality it was the end of a fireworks show on Pier 39. I've always known that Michelle was legit, but that night I decided that she definitely is my favorite future cousin in-law.

Michelle is Chris' cousin, and I think the world of her. She's a Chiropractor, intelligent, and obviously beautiful. Chris and I don't get to see her often. But when we do, it is always a good time.

Thanks for the fun shoot last night Michelle. You photographed like a doll with those Barbie pink lips. Loved it!

P.S. I think you should choose the first photo for marketing ;)
